There are lots of maladies common to women.
I got an email from one of my readers who wrote, “I loved your story about keeping your tweezers in your car and plucking chin hairs at stop lights. I thought I was the only woman who did that! I also use my mascara to cover up my gray roots between hair colorings. But don’t let it smudge. It’s a mess!”
See? That’s one of the things I love about being a woman. We may share common maladies, but we’re also willing to share a good solution when we find one.
One day I took my daughter to the park. While she tackled the rope ladder, I introduced myself to a couple other moms there with their kids. Within five minutes we were exchanging bladder control stories.
We blamed our pregnancies, of course, then traded secrets about Kegels and other exercises, as well as which maxi-pads to wear when attending high-risk events such as Anita Renfroe concerts.
It’s amazing what we women have in common.
And don’t even get me started on what babies and birthdays to do our breasts. For years I avoided jogging like the plague. Of course, that was before I discovered that a firm sports bra can help prevent black eyes and other injuries.
